Event Description:
This great ride is SO VERY Portland and makes a unique and fun holiday gift!
Cold, Wet, and Raining...a perfect day for a ride. This year we are keeping our fingers crossed for sideways rain, or maybe even a little sleet. Afterward enjoy soul-warming homeade soups and bread.
There are two route options:
an 18-mile Urban Tour and a 40-mile Challenge Loop.
URBAN TOUR
This fun-filled ride begins with a great send-off at the SE Hawthorne Lucky Lab (coffee, donuts, drum corps), heads across the river to REI (chai & fresh fruit), then recrosses the river and up to the CCC (cocoa & cookies), over to Bike Gallery East (hot cider & snacks), then back to Lucky Lab for homeade soups and bread.
CHALLENGE LOOP
Follow the Urban course but after REI the real fun begins as the route winds through the magnificent West Hills along a great course to Hillsboro REI where a rewarding rest stop of hot nourishing treats awaits. After that, the course heads back into Portland where riders can link back up with the Urban route for a full 40 miles and the rest of the pit stops,
or just head straight to the finish line party.
This ride is a benefit for the Community Cycling Center's bicycle programs for low-income youth and adults.
Helmets are required, even if that gets in the way of your costume!
