Event Description:
Our "base" ride will be 38 miles out-and-back from New Seasons to the ultra-rural Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge northwest of Vancouver. The ride's core is the Kansas-flat 11-mile straight shot from the 'Couve to the 'Fuge, the second half in particular a wonderfully quiet and serene ride with wetland and water views almost the entire way. Those wanting a shorter ride can turn back at any point (roadside markers at each mile) and get picked up by the main group on its return to Vancouver.
Coffee stop in town at the Java House followed by a leisurely 6 miles back to New Seasons. Other options will include eastbound rides to Lacamas Lake and, in good weather, beyond and occasional crossings to the west side via the Broadway Bridge for extended climbing in the West Hills. The ride leader is always open to group input, re where they want to ride. |
